One of Ethiopia’s largest mixed-use developments, dubbed La Gare (French for “The Station”), took a major step forward the week of 13 January 2020 with the launch of its first residential tower in Addis Ababa, the country’s capital and largest city. More than 1,200 potential investors attended a three-day event at the Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa, demonstrating the vast interest in the new project.

Developed by a joint venture between Eagle Hills Ethiopia and The City Government of Addis Ababa, the 21-story ONE La Gare will offer 187 one- to four-bedroom residential units.

The wider 360,000-square-meter complex will create a new dynamic downtown in Addis Ababa, with more than 4,000 residential units, alongside hotels, retail, offices, and other amenities.

The complex is being developed on the former site of the historic Legehar train station, which was once the city’s main transportation link. It will also be located near the Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and the central business district.
