On March 14, 2021 detailed plans for the redevelopment of the Kokusai Shin-Akasaka buildings were released. The Akasaka 2, 6 Chome District project will see two towers of 230 meters and 110 meters tall. 

The 230-meter-tall, 41-story East Tower will contain office and retail, while the 110-meter-tall, 19-story West Tower will contain accomodation, retail, theatre and an event hall. The total building size will be 210,000 square meters. The East Tower will be taller than the 179-meter-tall Akasaka Biz Tower locatd across the street, as well as the 194-meter-tall Sanno Park Tower nearby. It will be about 8-meters shower than Roppongi Hills Mori Tower. 

A 1,000-square-meter business support center targeting start-ups and creatives in the entertainment industry will be located in the East Tower. 

The upper floors of the West Tower will have 10,000 square meters of accomodation targeting foreign travelers, domestic tourists, and business travelers. 

There will be direct station access from Akasaka Station, as well as an airport limousine bus and tourist bus stops. 

An office town planning decision is expected later this year. Demolition of the existing buildings will start in 2022, with completion of the new project tentatively scheduled for 2028.
