New renderings of 50 Main Street have been revealed for the Foster + Partners-designed project, permitting a glimpse of one of the tallest proposals for the city since Salesforce Tower. Along with the supertall, detailed illustrations provide a new perspective for The City Grove, formerly the Atlas, a massive investment for the downtown neighborhood by Hines.
The City Grove master plan splits the 3.5-acre (1.4-hectare) SoMa campus into four key components. This includes the alterations on 77 Beale Street, to be readdressed as 200 Mission Street, renovations of The Historic Market Complex, creating a 1.25-acre (0.5-hectare) public park, and the 89-story supertall tower at 50 Main Street.
The overall plan spans 2.85 million square (264,773 square meters) feet of floor area with nearly a million square feet (92,903 square meters) for housing, 1.57 million square feet (145,857 square meters) of renovated office space, just under 50,000 square feet (4,645 square meters) of new office space, 37,400 square feet (3,474 square meters) for retail, and 199,800 square feet (18,562 square meters) for below-grade garages. Parking will be included for 1,332 bicycles and 616 cars.
