Injuries were sustained after a fire broke out in Midtown, New York City at a high-rise on 5 November, 2022. Dozens of people were injured in a fire at a residential building in the three-alarm fire, which originated on the 20th floor. Thirty-eight people were taken to the hospital, with two critically injured due to smoke inhalation according to officials. Five sustained serious conditions and the rest had minor injuries according to the FDNY.
The fire, which began at 10:30 am was under control within one hour.
Two people were rescued from the apartment where the fire originated via life-saving rope, according to FDNY Deputy Assistant Chief Frank Leeb.
