An office building with an emphasis on resource-efficiency through smart techniques has been proposed in London. The 15,900-square meter Featherstone Building, located on City Road near Old Street has a brick materiality and façade articulation that responds to the surrounding Victorian vernacular, stepping away from an 11-story tower. Floor-to-ceiling windows open onto the Grade I-listed Bunhill Fields burial ground.

On-site amenities will include a café, retail, and affordable workspaces, roof terraces, and communal breakout space.

The Featherstone Building is around the corner from AHMM’s White Collar Factory, also for Derwent London, on Old Street roundabout, and incorporates similar features such as large floor-to-ceiling heights, concrete core cooling, openable windows, multiple terraces and a ground floor café linking with the reception area.
