Firms have been invited by the Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) to bid on a project management consultancy (PMC) contract for a 2-kilometer tall skyscraper called Rise Tower. The proposed design will be located in a new central business district on the outskirts of Riyadh. The request for proposals, issued by PIF subsidiary Tower District Real Estate Development Company, covers both the high-rise and the surrounding district, with the deadline extended to 20 March.

The skyscraper’s concept was derived from a design competition launched in late 2022 in which architecture firm Foster & Partners won.

Estimated to cost 5 billion dollars once the design is finalized, the tower and its surrounding business district are part of the North Pole masterplan, located north of Riyadh, with a re-masterplanning request for proposals expected soon.
