On 17 November 2022, Centennial Yards Company announced that the groundbreaking of Centennial Yards, one of the largest city-center developments in the US, had taken place. Construction has begun on the first two high-rse buildings: an 18-story full-service boutique hotel called Anthem, and an 18-story residential tower, both designed by Goode Van Slyke Architects (GVSA) and TVS Architecture + Design. These are both estimated to reach completion in 2025.
The US$5 billion 50-acre (20.2-hectare) development is expected to contain eight million square feet (74,3224 square meters) at completion, with four million (371,612 square meters) square feet of new residential buildings and four million square feet (371,612 square meters) of commercial buildings, including new office, retail, restaurants, and hotels.
