Heatherwick Studio and BARCODE Architects have been selected to design a new building in Utrecht at Jaabeursplein central square.
Together with developer Edge, the team was selected by a design competition put on by the Utrech Municipality. The building is being called Oopen, and consists of a spate of colorful cylinders that feature interconnections and openness for occupants. The project has a timber and steel structure with plenty of landscaped terraces for wildlife and people to enjoy.
