On 8 November, 2022 Mitsubishi Estate and Tokyo Century Corporation announced that Dorchester Collection will be operating a luxury hotel in the 390-meter tall Tokyo Torch near Tokyo Station.
The Tokiwabashi District Redevelopment Project comprises the 212-meter, 40-story Tokiwabashi Tower, completed in 2021, and the 390-meter, 63-story Tokyo Torch tower, scheduled for completion in 2027.
Planned for a total floor space of 21,400 square meters with 110 rooms and an at-height lobby, there will also be luxury rental units in the building, the largest of which will reach 400 square meters.
Dorchester is part of a wave of other luxury hotel brands recently opening flagships in Japan, including Bulgari Hotel Tokyo, The Walforf, and Swire Properties’ The House Collective, due for completion in 2023, 2026, and 2027 respectively.
