Construction has begun on a a 43-story apartment tower in the Rainey Street area in downtown Austin, which has recently experienced a surge in development. The tower is being developed by High Street Residential with MSD Partners and River Street partners and it is slated to reach 500 feet (152.4 meters) on downtown’s southeastern edge. It will have 377 apartments, from studios to three-bedroom units and penthouses. It is scheduled to be completed in late 2024.
Dubbed 700 River (initially River Street Residences), the tower will include 3,400 square feet (315 square meters) of retail space and more than 30,000 square feet (2,787 square meters) of amenity space, according to the developers.
High Street residential is a subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, and MSD Partners, an investment firm that invests on behalf of the Dell Technologies founder and others.
