The first steel column of the China Merchants Bank Global Headquarters project has been hoisted into place. On the afternoon of 13 January, 2022, at the invitation of Wei Wangrui, head of the steel structure project of China Construction Eighth Bureau, Hu Jianhong, project manager of China Fortune Land Development Co., Ltd., Zhang Hongjun, project director of Shanghai Construction Engineering Supervision Consulting Co., Ltd., and China Construction Eighth Bureau Zhou Fanghua, Project Manager of South China Company, Zheng Hailong, General Manager of South China Branch of China Construction Eighth Bureau Steel Structure Engineering Company, and Zhang Yasong, Deputy General Manager of Marketing, and other leaders came to the scene to witness the successful completion of the first hoisting of the steel structure of the China Merchants Bank Global Headquarters complex.
At the southern end of Shenzhen Bay, the China Merchants Bank Headquarters complex
is a collection of office, business, hotel, and cultural amenities. The total construction area of the project is 467,800 square meters and the main tower’s final height should reach 387.4 meters with 77 stories. The total steel needed for the steel structure is 42,000 tons.
