Parsippany, New Jersey-based Ferrero North America announced they will open a 45,000-square-foot (4,180-square-meter) facility next year in the landmark Marshall Field building at 24 E. Washington St. in Chicago. Brookfield Properties bought the floors from Macy’s in 2018 and began converting the upper floors into a modern office building.  Ferrero North America said the office and lab space will house around 170 research and development employees, some of whom will relocate from Ferrero subsidiary Ferrara Candy’s headquarters.

Ferrero joins a tenant list at the Marshall Field Building that so far includes secondary ticket marketplace Vivid Seats, consumer-insights company Numerator and co-working provider Industrious. With the Ferrero deal, the 650,000 square feet (60,387 sqiare meters) of rentable space across Brookfield’s six floors in the building is now 35 percent leased, according to Telos Group, which oversees leasing for the property.
