Plans have been proposed by Metropolitan Workshop for a 48-story residential tower in the center of Birmingham, which would include 462 units at 2 Snowhill Plaza close to the Snow Hill rail station.
The designs for 2 Snowhill Plaza are inspired by nearby landmark projects Alpha Row and Colmore Row, both designed by Birmingham architects. The project would be the tallest by Metropolitan Workshop to date, and among the highest in Birmingham, which is amid a surge in high-rise residential housing.
Two residential developments by Glenn Howells Architects, which are either under way or completed in the center of Birmingham, include a 49-story residential tower—the Octagon—being built in the Paradise area of the city center, and the 42-story The Mercian—a residential tower on Bond Street.
