A US$166 million, 35-story residential tower is coming to Greektown after getting City Council approval Wednesday. The high-rise at 301 S. Green St. will replace a parking lot and one-story industrial building. The design went through multiple revisions after several community meetings between February and July 2022. Contrary to the design presented earlier this year, the residential tower now has a sleek, glass-like facade.
Units are split between 144 studios, 146 one-bedrooms and 72 two-bedrooms, for a total of 362 apartments — 73 of which will be affordable. The building will also have a parking garage with 128 vehicle spots, 256 bike spots and tenant storage, city planners said. All affordable rental units will be available for households making 60, 50 and 40 percent of the area median income, according to the city’s department of planning and development.
Additional planned amenities on the roof includes a dog run, terrace and a pool.
