It has been reported that the site is being prepared for One Beverly Hills, a grouping of buildings designed by architecture firm Foster + Partners, that sits in between the main thoroughfare streets of Wilshire Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills.
The development will include two residential high-rises, at 32 and 28 stories, and a 10-story building that will house a hotel. The 17.5-acre site at 9900 Wilshire Boulevard, is being developed as a joint venture between Alagem Capital Group and Cain International.
The site represents the unification of several properties adjacent to the iconic Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. One Beverly Hills adds three environmentally sustainable buildings, all set around 8 acres of botanical gardens, planted at the heart of the site. Approximately two miles of pathways would also cut through the site, making roughly half of the space accessible to the general public. Collected rainwater and recycled greywater are proposed for the landscape to make the gardens 100 percent water sustainable, saving thousands of gallons of water per year.
Aman Resorts, a Swiss hospitality firm, has been announced as the operator of the hotel suites, as well as 255 branded condominiums and a private club. Other project amenities would include an indoor lap pool, basketball courts, and an outdoor fitness center.
Foster + Partners leads the design team for One Beverly Hills and also includes executive architect Gensler and landscape architecture firm Rios. An environmental study adopted by the City of Beverly Hills indicates that construction is expected to occur over a roughly 50-month period.
