Four developers are working towards a large-scale redevelopment that will see a 400-meter long, 30-story mixed-use building for the area near Nagoya Station, a busy rail hub.

The developers for the project are Nagoya Railroad, Nippon Life, and Mitsui Fudosan.

The 28,000-square-meter site currently includes the Meitetsu Department Store, Meitetsu Grand Hotel, Kintetsu Pass’e, Yamada Denki LABI electronic store, Meitetsu Lejac, and the Nippon Life Sasashima Building, all of which will be demolished.

Construction is tentatively planned to start in 2022, with completion expected in 2029.
