Gil Shenhav

About

Gil Shenhav is a senior partner and general manager of Canaan-Shenhav Architects LTD, an architecture firm established in 1992. He graduated cum laude from the Technical Institute of Israel, in Haifa.

Canaan-Shenhav specializes in the design of residential neighborhoods and towers, senior citizens housing, commercial centers and offices. It has designed many tall residential towers and is regularly busy in the planning of towers across the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. Canaan-Shenhav works in multiple cities in Israel and abroad, and has established work connections with some of Israel's major construction companies and entrepreneurs.

The firm specializes in sustainable architecture. It designed the first sustainable neighborhood in Israel and is currently working on the design of the first residential complex which is due to obtain the LEED certification.

The social model which evolves from urban aging and related issues, such as urban infrastructure, crowded city centers, and the impact of high rising towers on the urban fabric, has been occupying Shenhav for many years.

In 2006, he joined two partners in founding The Company for Urban Development and Renewal LTD, which specializes in urban renewal projects according to several models.

Based on the Social model it has developed, the company currently represents hundreds of tenants and landowners across Israel in transforming old residential buildings into tall, modern buildings for the benefit of all parties involved.

Gil Shenhav is a member of the Israel Architect Association and is a regular speaker on architecture, high rise construction, urban renewal, senior citizens housing and residential neighborhoods.
