2012 International Research Seed Funding

Overview

The goal of the 2012 International Research Seed Funding initiative, sponsored by AECOM (see below), was to assist talented researchers in developing projects/ideas to a level that would secure additional, more significant funding. Research proposals were directly related to the tall building typology and/or urban habitat, but could come from any topic/discipline. The proposals were intended to have the potential to improve tall buildings and cities from a wide perspective.

Designing Tall Buildings to Promote Physical Activity in China

Objective: Study the impact of tall building developments on physical activity in China, and provide guidance for the design of tall buildings and districts that can positively improve health in China’s rapidly growing cities.
