Approval has been secured for a 16-story mixed-use office tower at 88 Robertson Street in Brisbane’s James Street precinct, positioning the project as a new benchmark for the city’s fringe office market. Approved by Brisbane City Council roughly a year after plans were submitted, the $300 million development will deliver about 17,000 square meters of A-grade commercial space.
Designed by Cox Architecture, this project marks a second collaboration between the architecture firm and developer Goldfields, following Goldfields House in Melbourne. Landscape architect Arcadia and planner PPA are also part of the team, with Aegis appointed as lead agent. The building will incorporate wellness-focused tenancies, winter rooms, and a rooftop restaurant with city views, complemented by ground-floor retail and a laneway connection into the broader James Street precinct.
Located on a 2,002-square-meter site acquired by Goldfields in 2024, the development sits close to the Valley Metro station, Howard Smith Wharves, and just two kilometers from the CBD. Targeting strong sustainability credentials, the building is designed to achieve a 5-Star Green Star rating and a 5.5-Star NABERS energy rating, with EV charging included. Goldfields plans to occupy part of the building as its Queensland headquarters.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-2026, with completion forecast for mid-2028.
