Conflict continues in the Middle East between Iran and a coalition led by the United States and Israel, with missiles, drones, and intercepts now coursing across the region.
Amid reporting on Dubai, UAE during the first week, the Council on Vertical Urbanism has been able to confirm two tall buildings were directly impacted.
The 391-room Fairmont The Palm, on the central spine of Palm Jumeriah was hit by a drone on Saturday, 28 February, which landed in the hotel’s entry driveway and parking area. The hotel otherwise has remained open and operational. Also along the beachfront to the northeast, the iconic Burj Al Arab caught fire from falling debris after another Iranian drone had been intercepted. The damage was minor after UAE Civil Defense teams extinguished the flames and no injuries were reported.Â
