CVU has confirmed that construction is rapidly advancing on The Hills, a residential development reshaping the skyline of Guayaquil, with the first two high-rises close to topping out and visible façade work well underway.

The project has entered a significant new phase, as crews begin installing the exterior envelope and the development’s signature balcony planter systems, giving the first visible expression of the scheme’s terraced, landscape-driven design.

Located along the Guayas River in Puerto Santa Ana, the development comprises six residential high-rises rising from 92 to 143 meters. The towers increase in height as they step away from the waterfront, echoing the way Guayaquil itself rises from the river edge toward the surrounding hills. At the base, the towers merge into a mixed-use plinth that creates a landscaped terraced green valley, integrating pools, sports courts, retail, a community clubhouse, and a large urban amphitheater facing the riverfront.

The project’s form responds directly to Guayaquil’s layered urban and geographic context, drawing inspiration from the contrast between the broad riverfront, nearby mountains, and the hillside neighborhoods of Santa Ana Hill. Sustainability measures are integrated throughout the scheme, including photovoltaic systems, rainwater harvesting for irrigation, LED lighting, and heat pump technologies, helping reduce the development’s long-term environmental footprint.
