Sustainability

Advancing a low-carbon, climate-ready future.

Through partnerships, programs, and industry-leading research, we are focused on sharing the data, methods, and tools that demonstrate measurable progress on climate, carbon, and resilience in tall buildings and urban districts.

Carbon Commitment

The CVU Carbon Commitment invites member organizations to measure, track, and share carbon and material usage data from their tall building projects. This data will be consolidated into a public-facing benchmarking dashboard that will allow designers, property owners, contractors, and engineers to make more informed, sustainable decisions when developing their own projects.

Be a part of the change. Join the CVU Carbon Commitment and help build a more sustainable, resilient, and inclusive world for generations to come!

Awards Program Carbon Initiative

We’re reinforcing our commitment to sustainability through the Awards Program Carbon Initiative, where participants are asked to share data on the carbon and material impacts of their tall building project as part of their award submission. Together, we aim to achieve a global benchmark of embodied-carbon performance and support evidence-based, low-carbon design practices around the world.

Why participate?

  • Gain early-stage insight into the embodied-carbon impact of your projects.
  • Contribute to building the world’s most comprehensive reference dataset for tall building carbon performance.
  • Shape best practices and participate in the global conversation on sustainable vertical urbanism through CVU events and programs.
