A proposal for a 20-story office tower in Manchester, called The Alberton, was submitted for review by EPR and is being developed by Bruntwood Works. The Alberton would replace the current 12-story Alberton House on the site, a 1960s office building which would be demolished in order to make way for the new building—the developers claim the existing building is not energy efficient. The development will include a rooftop wellness center, with a performance lap pool, a hydrotherapy vitality pool, hot and cold treatment rooms, fitness studios, yoga terraces, a physio room and changing and shower facilities.
The Alberton project team also includes Planit IE as landscape designer, Curtins as structural and civil engineer, Hilson Moran as MEP engineer and sustainability designer, RLB as cost consultant, Stephen Levrant as heritage consultant and Deloitte as planning consultant.
