On 7 June, 2023, a ground breaking ceremony was held in downtown toronto for the 73-story East Tower of the Forma development with the developers Great Gulf, Dream Unlimited, and Westdale Properties and architect Frank Gehry, Founder, Gehry Partners. The two-tower Forma condominium scheme in downtown Toronto was originally proposed in 2012 with a revised design in early 2021.
A total of 2,087 residential units will be constructed between the two towers. The second, the West Tower, will be 84 stories. The condo development is seen that when completed, it will redefine the Toronto skyline.
Toronto’s Great Gulf is leading the development of the project and says over $1 billion worth of sales have been entered already on the shorter east tower, including the $20 million cantilevered penthouse which occupies its tapering upper floors.
The East Tower is planned to be completed in 2028. The second tower has yet to break ground.
