This privately funded project, which broke ground in 2023, marks the latest milestone in architectural innovation where all three elevator cabs and machines are being completely replaced, bringing major upgrades to the Space Needle.
Led by the Space Needle team, along with internationally acclaimed design firm Olson Kundig and in partnership with Otis Elevator Company, the new elevator cabs were inspired by the original Space Needle sketches from 1962. Echoing the goals of the earlier Century Project, which opened views from the top house, these new cabs embrace transparency—offering guests a fully immersive ride with unobstructed, panoramic views of the city below.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the project up close and learn how a global design and engineering team is elevating one of the world’s most beloved towers.
