How can we shape cities that are vibrant and engaging? And how can we make sure that tall buildings, both new and refurbished, are good neighbours that contribute positively to their setting?

We will discuss approaches to urban activation that create places where everyone feels welcome. The talk brings together Fletcher Priest Architects, cultural strategists Things Made Public and the City of London, chaired by Turner & Townsend Alinea. From ground floor permeability and inclusive public realm, to co-curated shared uses and cultural activation, the tactics that will be discussed are focused on designing out corporate and hostile receptions and creating 24/7 activated city centres.

The event will be made up of a short presentation, panel discussion and Q&A, with networking time before and after. Light refreshments will be provided.
