A planning application for a 25-story glass tower has been submitted to the Stonnington City Council by two Melbourne-based development partners, Pomeroy Pacific and Quattro Corp. The 714 square meter, “diamond-like” shaped, narrow site is one of the last remaining high-rise development blocks along a prominent road in South Yarra.

Cox Architecture won a design competition to complete the design for the new office tower, that will be 96.4 meters in height, that will be above Chapel street in the Forrest Hill neighborhood about 500 meters from Yarra River. The building will provide up to 11,330 square meters of leasable office space.

The proposal involves the consolidation of three lots at 643-647 Chapel Street between the 18-story Esque apartment building and the 16-story Olsen Hotel to the south. The developers acquired the lans as two purchases last year for an undisclosed amount.

With plans to widen the lane for more pedistrian activiation, there will be a cafe on the ground floor with access from Chapel Street and a rear lanewya. A public plaza in front of the building will enable cafe seating.  The ground level will include concierge services for meeting rooms and conference facilities on the second level. Twenty-two levels of office space – with flexible floorplates of up to 504 square meters- will sit on top of a three-story podium.
