The Council on Vertical Urbanism (CVU) is pleased to share that Dalibor Savović, PE, CEng, CMEngNZ, Associate Principal and structural engineer of DeSimone Consulting Engineering, a leading global company recognized for innovative structural design and a multi-service, client-first business model, has been appointed to the CVU New York Chapter Board of Trustees.
A longstanding member and active supporter of the organization, Dalibor has served on numerous CVU committees and steering groups. As a member of the New York Chapter Board, he will collaborate with peers from across the city’s architecture, engineering, development, and construction sectors to guide organizational and chapter-level growth while developing compelling programming and promoting member and industry engagement.
“I’m honored to join the CVU New York Chapter Board of Trustees,” said Dalibor. “This role represents a meaningful extension of my commitment to sustainable, resilient, and thoughtful tall building design and vertical urbanism as a leader at DeSimone Consulting Engineering. I look forward to working alongside the Board to shape the direction and support the growth of the New York Chapter—and the organization at large—bringing fresh perspectives from our global practice to the CVU, its members, and the industry.”
Dalibor has over a decade of international experience in structural engineering and sustainable design. Currently based in DeSimone’s New York City headquarters, he brings experience leading multidisciplinary teams in the structural design of complex, high-rise, and mixed-use projects worldwide—including large-scale European mixed-use developments such as Mindet 6 in Aarhus, City Tower 1 in Dubai, and innovative structures incorporating circular design principles.
Ilkay C. Standard, current chair of the CVU NY Chapter and Founder of Genx Design and Technology, said, “Since meeting Dalibor Savović at our global conference in Dubai in 2018, I’ve followed his impressive career development and active involvement with CVU worldwide. He has made meaningful contributions to the CVU German, Dubai, and UK chapters while working and living in those areas. I’m excited for the New York Chapter to benefit from his global perspective, applied in a city where that experience truly matters. I’m confident he will bring great value to CVU NY through his deep expertise and energetic leadership.”
He is appointed alongside other new board members in 2026: Jeffrey Kenoff, Kimberly Garcia, Jason Langer, Vram Malek and Billy Tse.
