In Brisbane’s inner south, a development application has been submitted for an AU$400 million, four-building transit-orientated hub, including 26 stories of student housing.
Developed by WEE Hur Holdings and designed by Woods Bagot, the precinct, called Park Central, will include an apartment building, office tower, student housing, and an aged care facility.
The 759-bed student housing building will complement its existing 1,578-bed student housing facility close by, and that opened in 2019.
To date, Wee Hur has invested nearly AU$1 billion in student accommodation in Australia, with sites now secured in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide for over 6,000 beds.
Park Central will also include a 28-story residential building with 290 apartments. Amenities will include multiple recreational and roof top decks, two swimming pools, indoor and outdoor gyms, as well as co-working space.
Apartments commence above an elevated podium. One-bedroom apartments are priced from AU$400,000, two-bedrooms from AU$575,000, three-bedrooms from AU$850,000 and penthouses will be priced on application.
Also part of the master-planned community will be a seven-story 5,000 square meter office building, and a seven-story aged care facility, complemented by 3,500 square meters of retail.
Construction is expected to begin in 2022, with completion expected in 2025.
