Construction has started on a 60-meter-tall office building in Omotesando. The joint project by Mitsubishi Jisho and Goko is scheduled to be completed by February 2023.
This large site was once the 10 story Goko Building. Built in 1964, the main tenant was the UR Minami Aoyama 3 Chome Dai Ni Shigaichi Jyutaku, 112 units of rental apartments managed by the semi-governmental Urban Renaissance Agency. It housed the Peacock Store Aoyama Supermarket on the first three floors and basement level. This supermarket had been operating out of this location since 1964.
The 2,400-square-meter site faces Aoyama-dori Street and is a short walk from Omotesando Station.
The new building will be 13 stories with one basement. The total building area will be 14,700 square meters with a floor plate of between 770 and 860 square meters. Ceiling heights will be 2.8 meters.
The rooftop will have a terrace and entertaining zone for tenants. The rear of the building will offer a small “pocket” park.
