In New Delhi, a plan has been approved to redevelop the Ayurvigyan Nagar area with 28 towers of government housing, up to 20-stories high. The area is near the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and the area to be redeveloped contains the AIIMS Residential Colony.

The layout plan which covers 20 hectares (49 acres) has been approved by the standing committee of South Delhi Municipal Corporation. The previous layout plan for this area was passed in 1983.

In total, the complex will deliver 1,240 type-2 houses, 1,364 type-3 units, 252 type-4 housing, 188 3-BHK housing units, and 40 4-BHL units. The majority of the plot would be developed into residential buildings, with 41,219 square meters reserved as green space.

The development will have a swimming pool, and will have a 1,221 square meter community club facility. The redevelopment will also improve parking capacity.
