Despite some economic uncertainties and a labor shortage, a Melbourne consortium has filed plans for what could be among Australia’s tallest towers on the Gold Coast with the tallest planned at 393 meters. The architects behind the scheme are BKK Architects.
The proposal is for a landmark AU$400-million (US$273-million) “vertical neighborhood” at Southport comprising two slender tower: A, a 100-story apartment building and a 60-story office building.
The proposal is for a vacant 1,245-square-meter site at 1 and 6 Park Lane, next to the Southport bowls and tennis clubs, and would deliver 193 apartments to be home to 580 people and 12,693 square meters of office space to accommodate 500 workers.
If approved, the project with a total gross floor area of 58,000 square meters is expected to create 1,000 jobs during construction.
