A Walmart executive is the latest buyer at the renovated Tribune Towers condo development.

Judith McKenna, president and CEO of Walmart’s international division, and her husband bought a US$4.9 million condominium on the 20th floor of the tower, according to the Chicago Tribune. Plans for the condo are unclear. McKenna is based at Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Ark. A Walmart spokesman declined to comment to the Chicago Tribune on the real estate purchase.

A four-bedroom, five-bath condo at the Tribune Tower redevelopment closed on April 15 for US$3.6 million. The renovation of the former home of the Chicago Tribune includes 162 condo units. Amenities include a 55,000-square-foot (5,109-square-meter) amenity space with a fitness center, indoor pool, and a private park. Over 60 percent of the building’s 162 units are now under contract.
