As reported in Florida Yimby, Millennium Developments of Brickell, an affiliate of G&G Business Developments—the developer behind Aston Martin Residences—has submitted updated plans for Calle 8 at 190 Southwest 8th Street in Miami’s Brickell neighborhood. Designed by BMA Architects with Desimon Engineering Consultants providing structural design, the 737-foot skyscraper will feature 500 residential units, 3,669 square feet (341 square meters) of office space, and 10,247 square feet (952 square meters) of ground-floor retail.
Replacing an earlier version that included a 70,000-square-foot (6,503 square-meter) music venue, the new design emphasizes a lighter, more vertical form with an active street frontage along Southwest 8th Street and 2nd Avenue. A continuous glass façade with evenly stacked balconies and tiered setbacks will create outdoor terraces and a more unified connection between the podium and tower. Materials such as light-blue glazing, metal louvers, perforated screens, and stone finishes define the contemporary palette.
The building’s amenities include a dramatic 42nd-floor cantilevered pool, bar spaces, spa and wellness facilities, and a beauty salon. Parking has been reduced from 653 to 556 spaces to support a more pedestrian-oriented design. Located within Miami-Dade County’s Rapid Transit Zone Metromover Subzone, the project benefits from increased density and reduced parking requirements as part of broader efforts to promote transit-oriented urban growth.
Calle 8 is among the final stages of review following its General Development Plan approval in early 2025. Construction timelines have not yet been announced.
