Carlos Meri Celma
About
Carlos studied a 5-year licenciature in Architecture in Valencia (Spain), later recognized as BArch + MArch in both Spain and the UK. While working as an architect in his family studio, he also completed a 4-year BSc in Civil Engineering, for which he received a best-student award, before enrolling on a 2-year MSc in Structural Engineering in Delft (Netherlands).
After these 11 years of academia and after getting registered as Chartered Architect in the ARB and RIBA, Carlos is currently pursuing a new stage of his career as structural engineer, being involved in the early stages of several stadiums and mega-tall buildings.
As an architect and structural engineer by training and professional experience, Carlos is a strong advocate for the deeper integration of architecture and engineering. Carlos is focused on the adoption of digital workflows, with emphasis on automation and advanced analysis methods, currently serving as member of the Computational Workflows and Digital Design Panel of the Institution of Structural Engineers (UK).
Carlos is active in the CTBUH, as member of the Engineering Assembly and the Lateral Movements Committee.
