Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany

About

Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany is the Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn. Bhd., one of the leading real estate players in Malaysia and master developer of the KLCC development in Kuala Lumpur City Centre and the largest urban development of Malaysia’s administrative capital, Putrajaya. He has over 40 companies under his helm, including KLCC Property Holdings Berhad and KLCC Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), the largest REIT by market capitalisation and the only stapled security listed in Bursa Malaysia.

Qualified as a surveyor, he has over 33 years of professional experience. He is a highly regarded leader in the Malaysian property sector, with an extensive track record spanning across real estate valuation, project advisory, property development, project management, strategy and mergers & acquisitions.

Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem previously served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of UDA Holdings Berhad for 5 years. Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer of PNB Development for 3 years, where he achieved strong financial outcomes during his tenure and improved the positioning of several township projects, part of a portfolio spanning 10,000 acres of urban and suburban development land.

Between 2007 - 2016, he advanced through numerous leadership positions, culminating in his position as Senior Vice President of Property Malaysia at Sime Darby Property. There, he successfully led the launch and management of multiple major township projects across Malaysia. Over the course of his tenure, he oversaw a development portfolio with a cumulative Gross Development Value of over RM200 billion (~USD47 billion).

He holds an Advanced Diploma in Estate Management from the University of Technology Mara, Malaysia and attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, Massachusetts, USA
