Eliza Suffren is a highly skilled designer and director at COX. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in contemporary architectural thinking as well as an enviable understanding across the
practice and principles of good design. Her belief that complacency is the biggest danger to good design ensures that her focus and determination produces outstanding architectural solutions on every project she leads. Suffren is a natural project leader, engaging with a diverse range of project typologies and working enthusiastically, expertly, and collaboratively across all project phases, from inception to completion. She rejects the idea of design for design’s sake, exploring the creative solutions to the core requirements of every project and working within site and client constraints to fulfil project goals. With a strong belief that architectural solutions require a dynamic and vital approach, Suffern’s approach is that design is not born from a single reference point but responds to various moving parts and evolving needs. She is passionate about ensuring that architecture develops through collaboration. This is evident in her work as well as her passion for mentoring younger designers in the studio, and inspiring everyone she works with to strive toward leaving a positive mark on cities via the design of considered, high-quality buildings.
