About

Eric Parry founded his architectural practice in 1983 after studying at the University of Newcastle (1970–1973), the Royal College of Art (1976–1978), and the Architectural Association (1979–1980). He is known for the intellectual rigor and sensitivity he brings to every project, as well as his recognition of the importance of art and craft in the built environment.

Leading a practice of approximately 100 people in London, he remains actively involved in all aspects of the work, from inception to delivery. Eric's portfolio includes a diverse range of buildings in both the UK and abroad, including workplace, cultural, residential, and civic buildings.

His wellbeing-led tall buildings include Kyobashi, a landmark 180-metre tower in Tokyo, 50 Fenchurch Street at 36 storeys, and the 74-storey 1 Undershaft, set to become the City of London’s tallest tower. He has also made significant contributions to the retrofitting and renewal of existing building fabric. Retrofit projects at Holborn Viaduct and 11 Belgrave Road have been recognised for their exemplary sustainable design.

Internationally, Eric has worked on commercial and residential schemes in Singapore, Japan, and India.

Widely recognised for his contribution to architectural discourse, Eric has held several eminent posts, including President of the Architectural Association. In 2006 he was elected Royal Academician (RA) and he was awarded a CBE for his services to architecture this year.
