Dr. Farshad Berahman is a Senior Principal at Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA), an award-winning structural and civil engineering firm founded in 1920 and headquartered in Seattle, Washington. He specializes in tall building design and is currently working on some of the tallest towers in the world.

Farshad’s expertise includes large-span and high-rise structures, with a strong focus on Performance-Based Seismic Design (PBSD). He has led complex projects in diverse locations—including the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, India, Singapore, Kuwait, South Korea, and the Philippines—addressing extreme wind and seismic challenges in iconic developments.

As the leader of MKA’s High-Rise Structures Technical Specialist Team, Farshad has advanced the firm’s tall building expertise through the integration of cutting-edge wind and seismic engineering strategies, including the use of innovative damping systems for improved motion control.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tehran, a Master of Science in Earthquake and Structural Engineering from the Iran University of Science and Technology, and a Doctorate in Earthquake and Structural Engineering from the International Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Seismology. Farshad is a Chartered Structural Engineer and a member of the Institution of
Structural Engineers (IStructE).
