About

A Principal at KPF, Florence Chan joined the KPF’s New York office in 2007, relocated to the Hong Kong office in 2008, and now runs KPF’s Shenzhen office, which opened in 2023. Since then she has been involved in a series of mixed-use projects, with special interest in tall buildings in mainland China, including OCT Tower in Shenzhen. She plays an essential role in many of KPF’s projects, acting as liaison between clients, consultants in Asia, and the design teams in New York and London.

Ms. Chan’s involvement in a number of KPF’s leading projects has helped her to develop technical expertise in highly complex and large-scale projects. She played a key role in the design of Hysan Place in Hong Kong’s Causeway Bay, the first LEED Platinum certified mixed use tower in Hong Kong. In China, Ms. Chan has been an integral member of several design teams. Her expertise was essential to the design of the 600-meter Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen. Also notable is her involvement in the CTF Guangzhou, a 530-meter mixed use tower that houses office, hotel, serviced apartments and a retail program.

Ms. Chan received her Master in Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design and her Bachelor of Social Science (Architectural Studies) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Ms. Chan is a registered architect in the US and Hong Kong, and a LEED Accredited Professional. She taught at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and is currently serving as the Vice President of the American Institute of Architects Hong Kong Chapter.
