About
Ms Fun Siew Leng is the Chief Urban Designer at the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA). Her primary responsibility is to oversee the architectural and urban design aspects of URA’s work. As the Chief Urban Designer, she oversees the urban design for Central Area of Singapore as well as new key growth areas outside the Central Area such as Jurong Lake District, Woodlands Regional Centre, Punggol North Coast and the Greater Southern Waterfront. She is a firm believer in how planning, urban design and architecture can shape a better living environment: one that is safe, healthy, and enjoyable, one that builds community bond and one that strengthen our civic pride.
As a registered architect with close to four decades of experience, she chairs the Design Advisory Panels of the URA for key projects in Singapore to ensure high quality designs for these projects. She was on the jury for the design competition for the State Courts and the Founders’ Memorial project. She is also a member of the Land Transport Authority’s Architectural Design Review Panel for the Jurong Regional Line and North-East Line Extension and Cross Island Line stations. She sits on the Board of Architects which regulates the practice of architecture in Singapore.
