Ignacio Gomez
About
Ignacio Gomez, Global Design Principal at Aedas, challenges formulaic design by conducting in-depth research of each project's typology, location, people, culture, history, present, and its future, resulting in unique solutions. With 17 years’ experience within the region, he is responsible for key projects, establishing the practice’s design direction in the Middle East.
Gomez has been responsible for project design and management, specializing in master planning, hotel and leisure, residential and cultural projects across the Middle East. His designs have earned him various international and regional awards including Best Hospitality Project in Middle East Architect Awards 2012, Winner in Community Future category in Cityscape Global Awards 2011, Young Architect of the Year and Best Residential Project of the Year in Middle East Architect Awards 2010. He regularly speaks at different conferences in the MENA region such as the World Architecture Congress in Dubai, Architectural Design Days in Riyadh and DesignMENA Summit in Dubai.
Gomez completed his Master of Architecture and Engineering with Honors in Polytechnic University of Madrid, ETSAM and a postgraduate programme in Museography and Exhibition Spaces at Foundation Antonio Camuñas, Centro Superior de Arquitectura, Madrid, Spain.
