About
Ilkay Standard is the founder of GENx Design and Technology, a certified WBE firm headquarters in New York City, with additional offices in New Jersey, Istanbul and Ankara. GENx positions itself as a modern center of innovation, dedicated to shaping the Fourth Industrial Revolution on a global scale.
The company specializes in delivering end-to-end virtual design and construction solutions for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) sectors. Its expertise spans BIM implementation for high-rise and large-scale projects, 3D/4D/5D modeling, scan-to-BIM, fabrication coordination, design-to-manufacture, AEC manufacturing, and constructability review. By combining advanced processes with technology, GENx helps clients reduce risks, accelerate schedules, and improve communication across disciplines in both private and public sector projects.
The GENx team also drives generative design and automation, adapting methodologies from aerospace and automotive industries to the built environment. GENx focuses not only on delivering products but also on transforming processes.
Beyond her role at GENx, Ilkay Standard, who is currently teaching at NYU Tandon School of Engineering, serves as Chair of the CTBUH New York Chapter and Chair of the Smart Buildings/Cities Assemblies. She works to foster dialogue between architects, engineers, developers, and academia, promoting responsible design for future-ready cities. Under her leadership, the chapter has grown from 30 members to over 2,000, reflecting the rising momentum of the industry. She also previously served as Chair of the CTBUH Future Leaders Global Committee, strengthening connections between next-generation professionals worldwide.
