James Goettsch is the chairman of Goettsch Partners as well as the namesake design partner, responsible for developing the firm’s design talent and leading the direction and quality of design for major projects. With more than 42 years of professional experience, Mr. Goettsch has designed buildings throughout the Americas, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His work includes high-rise office, hotel and mixed-use developments; corporate headquarters facilities; academic and other institutional buildings; master plans; and renovation and repositioning assignments. Mr. Goettsch received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Iowa State University. In 1988, he was named a Fellow by the American Institute of Architects, and in 2019, he was recognized by CTBUH with the Lynn S. Beedle Lifetime Achievement Award.
