About
Gong Jian, Doctor of Engineering, Professor-level Senior Engineer, Doctorial Tutor of Tongji University, now acts as the Chief Engineer (Chief Expert) of Shanghai Construction Group Co., Ltd. and Dean of the SCG Engineering General Institute. Besides, he plays the lead role in some organizations and institutes, like Standing Director of China Civil Engineering Society, Vice Chairman of China Formwork Scaffolding Association, Vice President of the Consultation Committee of China Civil Engineering Society (Chief Engineers), FCIOB, and FICE.
Gong Jian has devoted himself to the research of super high-rise construction technology. And he has contributed to construction of the highest buildings and structures in different periods of China, such as Shanghai Oriental Pearl TV Tower (468m), Jin Mao Tower (420.5m), Shanghai World Financial Center (492m), Canton Tower (610m), and Shanghai Tower (632m), etc. Besides, he has presided over 25 national and provincial research projects of the National Science and Technology Support Program and the National Key R&D Program Project. Among those significant innovation achievements, he has obtained 5 items of National Science and Technology Award, including 1 second prize of National Technology Invention Award, 1 first prize and 3 second prizes for National Science and Technology Progress Award, along with 17 Shanghai Science and Technology Awards, including 1 special prize and 8 first prizes. In addition, he has achieved Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Award, the first National Innovation Competition Award, the first highest Science and Technology Award of the China Enterprise Association, the China Foundation Outstanding Engineer Award, and he has enjoyed special contribution allowances of the state council.
