About
Jonas Upton-Hansen obtained his Diploma in Architecture from the
Architectural Association in 2002 after which he joined Foster + Partners
where he collaborated on a number of high-profile international projects
including the McLaren Technology Centre and the Monaco Masterplan.
In 2005, Jonas joined the office of Helmut Jahn, Chicago as Associate
Principal, collaborating on numerous large-scale projects in the US such
as the 50 West tower in NYC, the Hudson Yards masterplan, 1999 K -Street
in Washington DC and worldwide projects both in Europe, the Middle
East and Russia.
Jonas returned to London in 2011 to found UHA London, focusing initially
on the UK market before expanding in 2012 to encompass Asia and
South America. Jonas has overseen the practice’s growth to a core team
of 60+ architects and designers based in central London, with satellite
design offices in Mumbai (India), Limassol (Cyprus), Budapest (Hungary)
and Lisbon (Portugal) dedicated to projects and clients within those
geographic regions, and representation in Tokyo, Taipei and Mexico City
overseeing significant projects in each locale.
