Lillian Tay
About
Lillian Tay is the Vice President of VERITAS Design Group, an award-winning Malaysian architecture and multi-disciplinary design practice with headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. She leads the design team at VERITAS and has been responsible for many landmark and award-winning buildings in Malaysia.  Under her leadership, VERITAS has developed a cohesive design philosophy that creates architecture that responds to the local place and culture.  Grounded in environmental design principles, VERITAS has designed some of the earliest sustainable and green-rated buildings in Malaysia including the Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment (2006), One Sentral Tower (2007) and Menara Binjai (2011).
Her notable recent projects include the W Hotel, Oxley Towers, Star Residences, the Kuala Lumpur MRT stations at Muzium, Pasar Seni, Stadium Merdeka and Bukit Bintang. Other award-winning accomplishments include the pioneering paperless and open concept DiGi Headquarters in Subang Hi Tech Park (2006) and Putrajaya Western Transport Terminal (2006). 
With their office at KLCC the past 19 years, VERITAS is highly attuned to the city’s urban environment and Ms Tay is a firm advocate and champion for good urban design and planning in Kuala Lumpur.  She is actively involved in projects as well as voluntary CSR efforts to advocate and initiate urban planning strategies to promote greater use of public transportation to address congestion, connectivity and walkability towards improving the public realm and quality of urban living in KL. 
Ms. Tay is trained as both Civil Engineer and Architect and obtained her B.Sc Engineering and Master of Architecture from Princeton University in 1990.  She has worked in Italy, Germany and in New York at one of the world’s top skyscraper design firms, Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates in New York prior to returning home to practice in Kuala Lumpur.
