About
Luís Henrique Bueno Villanova, PhD, is an architect and urbanist, Head of Urbanism and Vertical Architecture at Talls Solutions, and Vice President of the CVU Brazil Chapter. His professional career combines architectural design, urban consulting, research and real estate development, with a particular focus on tall buildings and their relationship with the city.
Throughout his career, he has worked with different architecture firms on the conception and development of building projects, as well as on urban consulting assignments and masterplans at different scales. At Talls Solutions, he works on strategic projects involving urban development, tall buildings, masterplans and feasibility studies.
He holds a PhD in Architecture from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS. His doctoral research investigated alternatives to zoning rules for tall buildings through performance-based guidelines, parametric simulations and three-dimensional envelopes. He also holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and Urbanism, with research focused on contemporary skyscrapers, and a postgraduate degree in Sustainable Construction.
He is also a professor in the Responsive Cities MBA program and a columnist for Caos Planejado, where he writes about tall buildings, density, vertical urban growth, urban planning and the transformation of Brazilian cities.
