About
Mark is the UK Head of Net Zero Carbon, Cost Management, and has been part of the team developing Turner & Townsend’s Cost Management Net Zero Carbon proposition, which included the launch of the industry leading Embodied Carbon Calculator in 2022.
Mark is committed to helping drive and deliver the change in the real estate industry to account for the two currencies of construction, cost and carbon, and is passionate about driving improvements into the design of projects to achieve lower carbon outcomes for clients. Mark is working with private and public sector clients to help them achieve their Net Zero Carbon ambitions using the digital tools developed by Turner & Townsend. The approach of considering carbon as the second currency of construction allows clients to make informed decisions around their investments based on reliable information, using lifecycle cost and carbon analysis to demonstrate the benefits of adopting decarbonisation design measures.
Mark was involved in the launch of the new RICS Whole of Life Carbon Assessment Professional Standard, speaking at the launch event in September 2023 and taking part in the consultation phase of the publication. He was also a panelist on the RICS WBEF webinar on Carbon accounting: Steps for successful implementation.
