May So is an Associate Principal and architect at Mithun, a national integrated design practice and recognized leader in sustainability, with offices in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. So brings 23 years of design and project leadership on civic, higher education, and urban high-rise mixed-use residential and office projects in Canada and the U.S. Her expertise is in achieving high-performance buildings by integrating emerging building technologies, including mass timber, modular construction, district energy systems, and digital platforms. She is currently overseeing a multi-tower health-and-wellness-focused retail, residential and hotel development in partnership with Kemper Development and KPF in Bellevue, Washington, and several mass timber and modular startup projects. Her research initiatives include advising on the creation of a municipal mass timber incentive pilot program.
